Romario Gets His 1,000th Goal….Finally! (Video)
May 21st, 2007 . posted by admin
It had to come some day and while it took him a little longer to cross from 999 to 1,000 goals, Brazil’s 1994 World Cup winning hero Romario finally scored that ever elusive goal by converting a penalty in Vasco da Gama’s 3-1 over Sport Recife on Sunday.
The 41-year-old sent Sport goalkeeper Magrao the wrong way to spark extraordinary scenes at Vasco’s Sao Januario stadium, where celebrations held up the Brazilian championship match for 16 minutes.
Dozens of people, including friends, relatives and a horde of radio and television reporters ran onto the pitch to hug, congratulate and interview the 1994 World Cup winner after his 48th minute goal.

Utter bollocks.. [-(
This 1000 goals is a fabrication created and sold by Romario himself. Sure he has scored a plenty and is a legend in the game but c’mon…retire with some dignity, rather than creating fictional milestones that glorify achievements you havent earned :-w

hey outlaw how may pro goals have u scored? /:)

Yeah good one pUyOl13 you twerp…
If you’d actually bothered to read it i made it pretty clear that his achievements are remarkable and he is a LEGEND (i’ll bold it for you so i can read it) in the game.
My point was that to create some fictitious milestone to gain some extra pats on the back tarnish’s what has already been a great career.
Cretin.

oh oh oh… fictitious milestone? go to Vasco’s site and you’ll see his goal list. he has done all the 1000 gols, none of them are “fiction”. and yes, not all the goals are as professional, he has some of exhibition matches, but who hasn’t? Pelé who scored his milestone, had lots of goals from exhibition matches or militar team’s.
and another one, romário never said that these are 1000 goals as professional, people say like he told that, but he didn’t. don’t come saying that fifa doesn’t recognize his goals, because fifa is the football’s cancer, it’s a jocke…
Valeu Baixinho, obrigado por tudo!

elexious9,
For gods sake get over it…Im not “hating”.
I simply put forward my opinion on the subject and then defended it against some tool who’s best argument was “how many pro goals have you scored?”.

Fantastic milestone. As an australian we were so honoured to have romario play here last year for a few games and would have loved him to have achieved it here, but i guess for him doing it in his home country is pretty sweet, long live romario.
