Totti Humiliated
April 11th, 2007 . posted by admin
Roma captain Francesco Totti who famously vowed that by the end of the two legs between Man Utd and Roma Sir Alex Ferguson will remember his name has now said he is struggling to come to terms with his team’s humiliating defeat at Manchester United on Tuesday night.
Totti made the vow when Sir Alex unintentionally left his name out of the list of key players in the Roma team that caught the attention of the Man Utd staff, however tuesday night’s 7-1 drubbing meant that his vow is yet to be fullfilled.

The lost was not Totti’s fault? Hello? Isn’t football a team game? If there’s a problem, it’s everybody’s fault. Or maybe, it wasn’t any of the Roman’s fault. It just happen that ManUtd were a lot better than Roma. Period.

Whats was this guys name again???? ohh yeah Totti…. sorry i already forgot it. Becoz i didnt see him during the game but i sure did see the tears about to explode from his eyes after the massacar at old trafford. Francesco Totti knows now that its not called the THEATER OF DREAMS for nothing!!! and Ronaldo dribble up and down romas ass all night long. so bad that the defenders began to rugby tackel him. There only ONE UNITED. And remeber this name MANCHESTER UNITED. becoz futbol is about the team not a single player. We are on the road to athens boyz via the SAN SIRO

It’s funny to read all these nationalistic comments about the Premier League being the best league just “because it’s british” (the all too usual british arrogant pomposity, one may say).
Actually, the English league has a bunch of very good players (most of them are not even british) simply because the english clubs have more money.
I hate to have to say that, but before you start gabbering about “oh how superior we are!”, you should at least win one little World Cup (and I mean winning one on the pitch, for a change: the only one you won, ages ago, was a FIFA gift to H.M. your Gracious Queen, as proven by countless witnesses… no referee dared to let England lose one game, during that world cup, and even some brit had to admit that).
There’s nothing much to say about that: simply English people have this tendency to think that they are the most civilized, the most intelligent, the most good, and blah blah blah.
You are no better no worse than anyone else… the age of the Empire has ended (and many countries thank God for that!), and you better start coming to terms with the fact that you are not the leading country of this planet!
Not even in football!
emi | April 14th, 2007 @ 2:22 pm
Hamani is abolsutely right!
Our Italian league is not the best of leagues (I think Spanish league is the best), but at least there is some “poetry” on the pitch.
British style is all physical strenght, rudeness, mascoline power… it reminds me rugby, with the obvious difference that in rugby you use your hands.
The fantasy comes only from the non-british players.
And if there are many in the EPL, it is not because it is “fast paced”: it is simply because football players LOVE money, and there is where they find more money than anywhere else. That’s all.
In fact, every time the English national team challenges other nations, it always ends the same way: lots of sweat, not too much class, and the usual final rivers of tears.
Have a nice day, everybody!

Roma Should have continued another italian tradition and paid somebody off to at least have had a chance.

after all, I think that Roma deserved to lose. So what’s your point?
I am complaining about people calling italians “spaghetti munchers” and about people writing comments that are full of racial prejudices.
Read some comments, and tell me if you think that is good that who loses is insulted in such a racist way!
By the way: Roma has never been involved in any scandal. Juve and Milan were. Not Roma.

haha Italy 4 world cups and u brits 1!!! lets not forget one thing …due to the scandal roma got put in the c-league, they were meant to go to uefa cup, so if our uefa cup team can get into the quaters of champs league tht shows the strength of our league! Also juve got punished so removed a house hold name from europe and milan were punished financially so culdnt buy any1 !!! Before u british losers talk educate urself on matters…in 2003 3 italian teams were in the semis and an all italian final happened..u still have to achieve an all english final!!! Next year serie a will be the most exciting and best league in the world …with Juve who have over 70 million to spend AC, inter and roma all buying big, Fiorentina and palermo also buying some new player to push for tht top 4 finish will mean tht serie a will be back to full strenght and will once again be ontop of the world! also FORZA MILAN AND SHUT THESE english beer drinking hooligans up, or ill call our police to beat theese pussies up so then they cn go cry to the british media like the poofs tht they r…u invented footie and hooluganism but now we r world champions in both!!!

Yes, Adam: 7-1.
We accept this result, although is painfully humiliating.
But you are not giving a good impression, insulting the loser. Respect is important, and we respected you after our 2-1 in Rome.
Again: we are proving that we can lose with fair play.
And you are giving a bad impression, showing that you can’t lose when you lose and you can not even win, when you win.
Shame on you, for that.

Hi, Hamani.
First: please don’t tell me to “stop”, as I don’t give and I don’t accept orders.
I hate losing (and it was a bad feeling for me, seeing for the first time in 70 years my team losing with such an humiliating result).
Maybe you are not, but I am a true born Roman, I live in Rome, and I feel about my team very much.
But as a man of honor, I know it’s fair to accept a bad event.
And I totally despise those disgusting childish comments of people INSULTING us just because our team has lost.
Fair play is important, and you can judge a man not only by the way he can lose, but also by the way he can deal with a victory. And many voices, here, are simply giving a very bad impression.

Anyway… today Roma showed a good game, winning 4-0 with Totti scoring two delicious goals and a wounderful assist for Ferrari.
Now Totti, that for the first time in his carreer plays as a forward, has scored 25 goals in this season, and countless assists, despite he was injured for at least a quarter of the season.
Proof that he is really a wonderful player.
Forza Roma!
(and Forza ManU too: if they beat us, now they MUST win the CL… so we can say that we only lost to the best! );)

emi, you said:And you are giving a bad impression, showing that you can’t lose when you lose and you can not even win, when you win.
What? When did I show you that? I just voiced the scoreline:d When we conseed 7 goals in one game, I’ll respect you.
emi | April 15th, 2007 @ 3:56 pm
ADam…
More exactly, you wrote: “Anyway….7- 1″
I interpreted it like “No matter what you blah-blah about: we still won 7-1″.
I interpreted that as a refuse to discuss what I was talking about (insults targeting italians as a people in other people’s posts).
Yes, we lost 7-1. That allows somwbody to write “fuck italians”, or “spaghetti munchers” or anything like that.
Frankly, I expected somebody wrote something like: “Ok, pals… we won 7-1. Now, maybe we should show some respect and stop insulting a whole people”.
It did not happen. Nobody wrote anything like that.
So, I have to repeat: you can judge a man not only by the way he can lose, but also by the way he can deal with a victory. And many ManU fans, here, are giving me a bad impression. Their fault, not mine.

I’ve been reading a lot of comments about how much better serie A is than the EPL and oh how the EPL kicks everybody’s arse…
I love futbol and I am a huge Manchester United fan but at the sametime I have respect for the Italians. Yes, we recently killed Roma but in overall it was one match.
Whats funny though when you compare the two leagues with what they actively compete in and qualify each year (The Champions League, UEFA Cup, and Intertoto Cup) the all-time results are mirror-images of each other.
UEFA Cup – Italy 10 winners 8 runner-ups
– England 10 winners 8 runner-ups
UEFA Champions League
– England 10 winners 3 runner-ups
– Italy 10 winners 14 runner-ups
UEFA Intertoto Cup
– England 4 winners 1 runner-up
– Italy 4 winners 3 runner-ups
Right now, we’re tied in everything…..
TheMightyGunners | April 18th, 2007 @ 6:37 pm
Anyone remember Henry’s hatrick at roma, or the 5-1 mauling away at inter, or the many times we’ve wiped the floor with juve. it is’nt just united, arsenal ahve been doing it for years!
Seria A has one good thing, and his name is Kaka!
emi | April 19th, 2007 @ 12:37 pm
Well, we all should be a little less virulent in our comments.
Anyway, CREWFALCONS makes a good point about the very small differences in the ITA and ENG results.
I’ve only a small little detail to update: we’re not “tied”. Numbers say:
ENGLISH TEAMS: 24 winners + 15 runner-ups
ITALIAN TEAMS: 24 winners + 25 runner-ups
So, Italy wins by 10 runner-ups
And, if we talk about National Teams… well, Italy won 4 World Cups. England only one.
That should be enough to say that Italian football is by no means inferior to English football. They both have good tradition, and the results are almost tied.
Almost.

Well, gooners…
it depends: you prefer to enjoy your domestic league, and i like to have a nice league and a very good national team.
Our dom. league is not the best, but it is one of the best three leagues, along with Spanish league (the best) and the English one (the SECOND best).
And our national team is the best in Europe, while the English one is not even one of the best 5.
So… no fuss.
Just… to each his own.
Ciao
emi | April 20th, 2007 @ 2:46 am
and, Gooners, if you are still convinced that your clubs are the best in Europe, well… I invite you to read posts number 40 and 42.
And you will notice that English and Italian clubs are ALMOST tied. And I repeat ALMOST, being Italian clubs better tahn English clubs (numbers speak soooo clearly, my friend).
But you appear to ignore numbers…
Ciao again
Unisol | April 21st, 2007 @ 4:27 pm
we are talking in recent times…….I support United but I watch a lot of SPanish football aswell and some Italien(rarely, (only If AC Milan are playing)) this is because i just cant be bothered watching a team score a goal then sit back and pass it along their back 4 and timewaste and dive the whole rest of the game away. I appreciate what Italian clubs have earnt in the past but you have to accept that your time is now over and football has returned (rightfully) to its origins, and this is where it will stay \:d/
emi | April 21st, 2007 @ 4:50 pm
Hi, Unisol.
Well, I am not saying that Italian football is the best. I simply reacted to some annoying comments, but maybe I should have simply ignored them, after all.
Regarding the three major European leagues (English, Spanish and Italian), I think the Spanish one is the most interesting, together with the English one.
The Italian Serie A is currently in a bad shape, with scandals and an overall decrease of its quality.
And during the last big scandal, it has been proven that my team, Roma, was one of the victims of those clubs that cheated, and those included Milan and Juventus.
Then, if I can give you an advise, try to follow Roma games too: you will discover that (despite the awful OT game), Roma is reallt a spectacular team, and not too “Italian” in its concept of the game.
It has a very productive forward section (scoring many goals) and whatever the result is, it never stops to attack (most Italian teams, after 2 or 3 goals simply stop playing and build barricades around their goalie). Roma has even been criticised for that, after having won 7-0 against Catania (and seriously missing at least 10 more goals in the same match!).
Defensive mentality is not new, in the Serie A, but Roma really is a different team.
After all, this year Roma gave Milan 4 lessons, including a victory at San Siro (with Totti scoring two superb goals).
So, I think you would enjoy a Roma game (and Totti magic tricks).
Ciao.
Unisol | April 21st, 2007 @ 6:02 pm
yeh, i agree, i liked how Roma played in the 1st leg and they made it interesting. AC milan should also make an interesting game but they dont have pace (but lots of experience). But i dont like watching Inter (or Juve when they used to be in Serie A)
emi | May 3rd, 2007 @ 3:40 am
Wow… Milan won 3-0. I’m not too happy about that (I’m a Roma fan, and you can imagine my regrets, after we won twice with Milan and then lost with ManU, that lost to Milan).
And, by the way, I think Milan should have been banned from the competition, because of the scandals it was involved into.
The only thing that I can smile about is that all those super-excited people that were talking about the supposed “british superiority” (probably they were writing while smoking a pipe and listening to “Rule Britannia” on their iPODs) now have disappeared in the mists of humiliation, where they are probably looking for the usual sorry excuses (”Hey, we had so many injured players”… and the usual blah blah).
So, dear friends… I’m sorry Milan won, but I’m happy that you came back to the harsh reality.

you are the most unsportsman ship ive ever seen. I hope milan wins the champions, hope 05 doesnt affect them and try to work hard to beat liverpool. Liverpool is one lucky team, they dont do well in the EPL but win the champions leage:o
emi | May 3rd, 2007 @ 6:50 am
Hamani…
Why you think I am “the most unsportsman ship” you have ever seen?
I have admitted my team’s defeat, I have been insulted by 100 persons for racist reasons (”dirty italian”, etc…) and I only replied after a while, because I could not stand anymore those nationalistic and racist insults and celebrations.
And, by the way, Milan is not a better team: Roma won against Milan in the Serie A and also in the Coppa Italia, proving Roma plays better. Football is like this: every match is different, and anything can happen.
Milan has only some experience that Roma still has not. But technically, Roma is better than Milan (and the numbers show it clearly in the Italian championship).
hamani | May 3rd, 2007 @ 4:44 pm
emi your 100% right, I am a roma fan, but i still want milan to win the Champins League, andu said the numbers show, milan had a diffucclt season with all the scandel and still manage to be in the top 3 and champions league final, roma beat milan twice, your right but that was at the beginnig of the season were they had great diffaculties in the Serie A, overall i have to addmit, milan is the best team in Europe, i wish it could be roma, but rom dont have enough money
