February 22 (UEFA Cup) - A late strike from Barry Opdam sealed AZ Alkmaar's place in the last 16 of the UEFA Cup with a dramatic 2-2 draw against Fenerbahce. Opdam scored in the 86th minute as AZ recovered from 2-0 down to seal their passage on the away-goals rule after a 3-3 scoreline in the first leg in Istanbul.
February 22 (UEFA CUP goals) - Werder Bremen nearly blew a three-goal lead from the first leg but advanced to the Round of 16 despite a 3-1 loss at Ajax. Leonardo opened the scoring for the Dutch side in the fourth minute before Hugo Almeida equalised 10 minutes later. Klaas Jan Huntelaar pulled another goal back for Ajax on the hour mark and Ryan Babel made it 3-1 with 16 minutes to play.
