February 22 (UEFA Cup) - A late strike from Barry Opdam sealed AZ Alkmaar's place in the last 16 of the UEFA Cup with a dramatic 2-2 draw against Fenerbahce. Opdam scored in the 86th minute as AZ recovered from 2-0 down to seal their passage on the away-goals rule after a 3-3 scoreline in the first leg in Istanbul.

February 22 (UEFA CUP goals) - Werder Bremen nearly blew a three-goal lead from the first leg but advanced to the Round of 16 despite a 3-1 loss at Ajax.
