Arsenal are through to the Carling Cup final

January 31st, 2007 . posted by admin

It will be an all London showdown in the Carling Cup final (actually even if Spurs won it would be all London..) as Arsenal needed extra time to see off the challenge of Tottenham Hotspurs 3-1 thanks to goals from Emmanuel Adebayor, Jeremie Aliadiere and an own goal from Pascal Chimbonda, finishing the semi final tie with a 5-3 aggregate win.

Tottenham had started quite well and Robbie Keane had an early opportunity to put them in front when he raced on to a Michael Dawson throughball, but Manuel Almunia was quickly out to block the striker’s effort.

However, Paul Robinson had a let off at the other end when Kolo Toure scuffed wide after the England keeper had fumbled Denilson’s effort from the edge of the area.

So it’s Chelsea v.s Arsenal in this season’s Carling Cup, my money is on Arsene and his men, i think their hunger will prove vital in the end.
