Lauren Joins Pompey

A few days ago Arsene Wenger said that Cameroonian international Lauren would be allowed to leave the club if anyone came in for him, and true enough Premiership team Portsmouth have secured the services of the soon to be 30-year-old, making it three ex-Gunners in the Pompey team.
Lauren will be teaming up again with Sol Campbell and Kanu although he has made it clear that what prompted him to join Pompey were not just because of the possible reunion but also because : “Portsmouth are having a great season and are pushing for a place in Europe and I aim to be playing my part in that challenge.
“I have been very impressed with the club’s plans for the future, both on and off the pitch, and this was why I chose to come to Fratton Park.
Congrats to Pompey on this capture which i think is quite significant, Pompey boss Harry Redknapp is delighted to have secured the services of an experience player and has labelled Lauren as a “great athlete and professional, very strong and quick, too.”
