Veterans Sends Utd Through

A goal each from scandinaveans Henrik Larsson and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer ensured Man Utd progressed in the FA Cup and keeps Sir Alex’s hopes of a treble intact.
Debutant Larsson who virtually won the Champions League for Barcelona single handedly got his name on the scoresheet as many predicted with a superb goal in the 55th minute, He showed good composure after being picked out by Rooney in the area to rattle a shot beyond Kiraly.
Man Utd were in control of the game from the first whistle and it comes as a little suprise that it took them till the 55th minute before they could get the breakthrough against a very determined and gutsy Villa side, but Larsson even though at 35 had other ideas and ensured his name will be remembered by the United faithfull with a debut goal.
Villa through Milan Baros seemingly clawed their way back with a 74th minute goal which stunned the crowd at Old Trafford, Ferguson was left fuming while Martin O’ Neill may have been thinking how his side were lucky to get that break and maybe force the game into a replay at Villa Park.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the other ‘oldie’ in the team decided to do some heroic work as yet again he managed to break some hearts with the winner very deep into stopage time, and though the goal was credited to him it was a big blunder by Villa’s goalie Kiraly who allowed the Norwegian’s shot to squirm under his body.
Final Score Man Utd 2 Aston Villa 1
