Luis Figo To Play For Saudi-based Al Ittihad
January 7th, 2007 . posted by admin
Just a few days ago Inter Milan made a statement that Figo will NOT leave the club, and now it’s official..he indeed will leave the club as the former World Player of the Year has signed an 18-month contract with Al Ittihad for an undisclosed sum, however he will only play for them from the July 1, 2007 Ittihad director-general Rafat Turki conformed.
There you go..so much for clubs and their statements! it seems nowadays statements and contract extensions means nothing at all, one minute you signed a new 4 year deal and the next your itching to change clubs, as in the case of Owen Hargreaves.
