Man Utd is said to be pondering a £12million bid for Tottenham’s Jermaine Defoe in the january transfer window.
This move makes sense in my opinion as i feel the purchase of Defoe would be more suitable than the likes of Fernando Torres, Darren Bent or Klaas Jan Huntelaar.Defoe is agile and quick plus he is already used to life in the Premiership unlike Torres and Huntelaar, United need a quick fix for now and they definitely can’t afford to have a player that isn’t settle to Premiership life.
The added bonus would be the partnership with Wayne Rooney since both are also England internationals, not to mention the reuniting with Michael Carrick, the move could potentialy be a masterstroke, but would Spurs part with Defoe especially having already parted ways with Carrick?
If the deal does go through it would mean Spurs has made a cool £30 million from United in less than a year.

Thierry Henry should be European Player of the Year and NOT Fabio Cannavaro, at least that’s what Arsene Wenger is saying.
Arsenal fans would agree 100%, but what do you think? (Place your votes - Poll on the sidebar).
Cannavaro is a good player but did he deserved the European Player of the Year award? i mean take a look at Henry’s resume for last season, played in the ‘hardest’ league, reached the finals in Champs League and World Cup, stayed relatively free from injuries, banged in goals for fun, signed a new contract with Arsenal (loyalty is hard to come by) even though Barcelona came knocking.
Placing all that and maybe even more into consideration and you feel that Wenger might have a point after all.
‘It is a mistake,’ declared the Arsenal manager.
‘It shows that the people who vote look only at the World Cup, which when you speak about elite football, in my opinion, is the lowest level in football that you can see at the moment.
‘They make their decision on that.’

Chelsea are rumored to be looking at the possibility of bringing Valencia’s David Villa to Stamford Bridge, but Valencia president Juan Soler insists Chelsea have not made an offer for Spain striker David Villa and warned any interested clubs they will have to start negotiations at £100million.
£100million?!!!
Such madness has creep into the game, but it’s just a tactic to deter clubs making an approach for Villa i guess. This has proven one thing though..why would Jose need Villa since he already has Drogba and Sheva? The point is simple, although the Chelsea camp has come out in the media saying that Sheva is world class (which he is) and he needs time to settle etc the truth remains for all to see that he hasn’t been in sensational form at all especially in the game against Man Utd where he was more like a fringe player and barely ever caused problems for the Red Devils.
Chelsea fans must be really pissed, cause it’s game like these that they have splash out £30million for the ex-Milan foward and it’s quite possible that Sheva may even head back to Italy as soon as the January transfer window, he really hasn’t settle in the Premier League and i doubt he ever will with the likes of Drogba in top form and Robben and Joe Cole knocking on the door.
